FIDF is great and I would never encourage anyone not to support it, but the point of having a group such as ours is to do something unified, meaningful, and hopefully unique. We should be able to figure out something that applies to plastic and reconstructive surgery, such as buying a microscope or another meaningful instrument, funding another fellow, hiring a publicist to disseminate positive stories about reconstructive miracles occurring in Israel, or even to detail the mutilating effects of hezbollah's barbaric attacks on civilians to the world press. We need to speak to Israeli surgeons and brainstorm amongst ourselves to come up with something that matters. Many of us have strong emotions right now and are ready to donate time and money, and we should strike while the iron is hot.
